Recipe: Quick and Easy Cranberry Apple Pie (using apple pie filling and cranberry sauce)

1 package frozen pie crust shells
1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
1 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 egg, beaten
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Separate two pie shells in package; let thaw at room temperature, about 30 minutes, or until dough becomes soft.
Mix pie filling, cranberry sauce and nuts; pour into one pie shell. Brush edge of pie shell with water.
Carefully remove second pie shell from pan and turn upside down on top of apple filling. Press edges of two pies together with tip of fork; trim edges with sharp knife, reserving scraps of dough.
Brush top of pie with lightly beaten egg.
Reroll scraps of dough with fingers into long rope and shape into letter "M" on top of pie; brush letter with beaten egg.
Bake in preheated 400 degree F oven 35 to 40 minutes, or until pie is brown and bubbly. Cool before cutting into wedges.
