Deb & Derryn

Misc.
I am Australian, born and bred Derryn; what about you, what part of NZ are you from? I have a very dear friend living in Auckland, anywhere near you?

Deb, so glad you enjoyed your stay in Scotland, it is one of my dearest wishes to get there myself one day.
My father was Scottish, and much to everyone else's delight, born on St. Patrick's Day, in Paisley.
At his club, the chef would always make a Haggis for him on St. Pat's Day, and then have it ceremoniously piped into the dining room.
My dad always had some, then he would compliment the chef for managing to get it 'just right'.
He never had the heart to inform him he loathed Haggis.
All evening he was teased about being born on that particular day, and was asked if he wasn't really an Irishman.
He'd go around muttering, loud enough for everyone to hear, "Who ever heard of a Scot...being born on St. Patrick's day"? My mum would put her arm around him, give him a kiss on the cheek and say, "I have darling, I have", he would then burst out laughing.

Have a nice day, the both of you.
