Gladys, Luis made tostones just last night!

Misc.
Once in while, when we are shopping, he spies some nice green plantain (which is not a regular thing here, so often all you see in the stores that carry them are yellow ones) and he picks them up and makes tostones, just like his mami does!

It has been quite a while since we had them, and I had picked up some chicken for dinner on the way home, so we had quite a feast...and watched "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". My kids have wanted to see it ever since it came out, as I "turned them on" to the original version from the early 80's a few years ago.

FYI, the new version is great. Not that true to the original, but definitely a good update. We all like it.

So pick it up at the video store if you have a chance...goes great with tostones!

hugs, and thanks for all the cool traditional recipes!

Carolyn!
