Help on Sun Pickles

Misc.

I made the sun pickles over the weekend; one jar I halved the cucumbers and the other jar I cut into quarters. The jar with the quarter cucumbers has turned cloudy, but the halved cukes still have clear brine. Is this normal? What did you mean when you said the brine "changes" when the pickles are cooked? Since I normally process pickles in a water bath, I am not sure what to look for in these pickles.

Thanks for your help!
