We eat the chicken with the sweet & sour sauce too!& my son likes them dipped in Barbecue sauce.
I'm so sorry you had problems with the sauce!There could be several reasons why the cornstarch mixture did this.Mix the cornstarch & water real well before pouring into the boiling sauce.Or maybe boiling is too high a heat, maybe a simmer would be better when adding cornstarch mixture to sauce & stir,stir ,stir!
Might be it doesnt need as much of the thickening agent.What I would do next time is this,slowly add the well mixed cornstarch & water mixture to the simmering sauce,stirring constantly,keep pouring small amounts in, just
until thick,again, stirring constantly.Im sorry about the sauce doing that,I dont think you will have any more problems.Let me know how it turns out next time ok?Thanks!Mickey
