I Didn't Know I Was Cheating--??

Misc.

Hey, Page--

I think it's fine to use mixes. I don't use a lot--try them though and if we like them then, hey, life just got easier. I have a gazillion cake recipes that start with a cake mix--most of them are in the archives here and are just wonderful. I used to take my grandma to the grocery--she was about 80 and not used to "supermarkets" but just loved them. Having had to can everything herself for years, she would go down every aisle and act like a kid in Toys-R-Us over things that were available. I just miss that! When I see new things I think of her and miss her even more.

Lisa, as for the chicken breasts--until lately when the price of chicken breasts of any kind have skyrocketed--my husband did a "test" . We were buying the boneless/skinless breasts for $1.99 a pound and would stock up the freezer when we could. Then he decided the ones with the ribs in might be a better deal. He boned them and skinned them and found that, per pound on a scale, it didn't matter. Of course, that was at $1.99 a pound--much more now. Does anyone have any idea why the price of chicken has gone up so much?

I've found some great pasta box mixes at Publix--a little pricey, but really good. One was angel hair pasta with a dried tomato sauce and another--even better had a pesto sauce. Yummy!

Know how busy YOU are--any has to be a Godsend!

Trish
