Message Jar ...

Misc.

Hi i saw this on Ophrah the other day -- was feeling pooped and plopped down for a spell -- it was a saving $$ show.
I have done this with a twist in times past so i'll share mine too ... they called it some wird new age type of name but i think a memory Jar would be good for a name :)
sit and think through special memories of you with the person to whom you are giving the gift -- write a SHORT sentance or 2 aobut it .... like for mom "I remember when we would go to that big park and you would push me soo very high -- the red caot i wore there too" and just keep going a different card for each memory -- when done fill into a jar or decoritave can .... label with a note similar to "you have given me such good memories -- plz. let me share them back with you" or when you think i don't care or remember pick a card and see that i do :)" In my opionion it would be good to use descriptive word pictures for these. I have suggested this to my hubby for his mom and my oldest for her dad .... hand written is good for the mem. jar.

the twist i have is: encouragment jars -- i write out verses and little encourageing words and have even slipped a $10 in one time (in small envelope) and then have given these to teachers or friends with new babies i personalize as best i can ... like "when the day seems rough look over at annie and thank the Lord that she is 2 now but soon to be 20" or "need a perk up? Jordan was just telling me today what a GREAT teacher you are & how she loved it when you read "curious george" to the class today" or "it was with glee that I saw your class of children running to their mom's with painted papers and big smiles"
the instructions on these jars go as follows "we treasure you .... i know it seems rough sometimes and it is in those times i'd like you to reach into this jar for maybe some needed encouragement -- you have blest me so i want to be the same for you .... " One teacher just went on and on and it had been a particularly hard yr for her ... she did not share my same faith but none the less i put in verses as well and she even like that part :)

ANOTHER twist is to do for hubby and make it a week long one -- with special things you will do like make lemon ch9icken give a back rub -- or well let you imagination go on this one have him draw it each morning and leave it for you on your pillow -- then follow through ....

Enjoy!!!
Love,
