Oh, Gladys -

Misc.
Your menu sounds delightful and very refreshing. At first the names sound complicated but the recipes really are quite do-able when you've not been feeling well.

I have a word of advice for you - don't worry at all about not having a swimming pool for entertainment - they obviously are coming to see you for you and your beautiful home, not for a swimming pool!

My first thought after reading your post was a bit of anger at people who would descend on you and then bring extra guests on top of it after you had been ill - rather inconsiderate, I think. Did they not know how ill you have been? One other thought here, Gladys - again, it's up to you to remember self-preservation in regards to your health - there is such a thing as saying (nicely, of course) "I've not been feeling well recently, and I'm not sure I'm up to entertaining yet - I'd love to have you drop in for a couple of hours, though" (In other words, NO!!)

You are so loving and generous that I'm sure people tend to take advantage of you and your nature, but sometimes, it's OK to say "no"!!

OK, I'll stop preaching at you now!

Love you and hope that all goes well for you this coming weekend, and it's so wonderful that you have family who will come and assist with the meal preparation.
