Pam...

Misc.

all I can say is I guess they dont make things like they used to - lol! This is the 3rd crockpot I've ever had (wore the other 2 out, including the 1st one I bought with green stamps back in college), but the 1st that cooks like this. It definately cooks a lot faster than the specified recipe time and one time when I turned it off and left chicken in it, the chicken was literally falling apart when I tried to pick it up.

I'm sure that crockpots, like ovens, all cook a little bit differently. Its a matter of finding out (the hard way unfortunately most of the time) how fast or slow yours cooks and then being aware of that when estimating the cooking time.

I am thinking of getting another crockpot tho (in the hopes that the new one will not be so turbo) and keeping this one just as a "warmer" for hot foods when I entertain. I love the convenience of a crockpot, especially with having a new baby in the house. Do you have any good soup recipes you could share? I make chicken noodle & minestrone in mine and am always looking for other good soups I could throw in there.

Take care :)
Julie
