Just a note from experience.... Both recipes are good.
The recipe made with oil does not harden, so the dough can be used over and over.
The dough made without oil hardens so can be used for permanent art projects. As children we made maps of our province with all the mountain ranges.
When my son was little I preferred the hardening type of dough as it could be swept up and didn't seem to get worked into things quite as easily.
