Question: Could this have been a Carrot Cake?

Misc.
Southern Living had the most amazing recipe for a Carrot Cake with a Buttermilk Glaze (containing Karo Syrup). The cake is a 3-layer but, no pineapple in the frosting. Recipe is from 1981 "Blue Ribbon Carrot Cake."

Any other further information would be helpful.
