Hi Joan,

If you post the recipe we may be able to help you with it. I've seen similar recipes to what you're decribing, but with the butter, dry ramen noodles and nuts in a frying pan, cooked until golden brown, then drained on paper towels. The toasted noodle mixture is then sprinkled on top of the salad. Maybe the recipe was missing the instructions to drain the fat?
