re: candied ginger

In California, candied ginger is found in most Asian grocery stores and usually in regular grocery stores that have an "Asian" department. It is about $1.79 for a 7 oz. box (I think.) Our local health food store also has it in their bulk department. I like to dice small pieces of it and put a little in my tea. It sweetens it, makes is lightly gingery and when you get the pieces of ginger at the end of your drink they are dessert!
Maybe you don't have Asian groceries in Toronto...?
