re: Chutney
Misc. There are many different kinds of chutney. Chutney is a relish, basically, but it can be really spicy hot. Chutney is used in India as an accompaniment to the entrees in the meal. It can be really hot and it can be mild. It depends on what else is in this salad that you want to make. It is made from many things; mango, coriander, coconut, cucumber, chilies, you name it. The most famous packaged variety is Major Grey's Mango Chutney. I don't know if that kind comes spicy or not. You have to look for it. Sometimes it cannot be found in regular supermarkets - it depends on what city you live in. I live in an indian area so I have shops around me that sell many different kinds. If you can't find it, I am sure if you Search TKL there is a recipe for it in Betsy's archives.
Hope this helps.
