Recipe: Memphis Sweet Tea

Beverages
We make a pretty mean sweet tea here in Memphis. This is how you do it:

Brew your tea. (I use about 5 regular-size bags of Lipton tea to a gallon of boiling water and steep 3-5 minutes. When the tea is still hot remove the tea bags and add the sugar. Now the sugar part is going to make you shake your head...but I swear we add this much for every gallon - add 2 to 2 1/2 cups of sugar.

We don't refrigerate our tea, just pour it over an extra big cup of ice and we never serve it the second day. Walla - that's it.

bye ya'll enjoy your tea!
