re: Diabetes AND Food Allergies - Some Good Books for You Bev....

Misc.
Hello Bev!

Recently my DH was also diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes and we changed our eating habits. It has been exciting and fun for me to come up with a different way of eating and finding new and delicious recipes to incorporate into our daily menus.

I went to the library and found many books and even ordered 2 that I fell in love with, from amazon.com. You might find some fun and yummy recipes in the following books:

The American Medical Association Guide to Living with Diabetes by Boyd E. Metzger, MD

Better Homes and Garden Easy Diabetic Meals for 2-4 servings

The Good Carb Cookbook by Sandra Woodruff, M.S., R.D.

The Complete Idiot's Terrific Diabetic Meals by Lucy Beale, Joan Clark, M.S., R.D., C.D.E., and Barbara Forsberg

These are the ones that I have on my nightstand at the moment, there are many more at the library which is a wonderful resource as well as other sites on the Internet that devote themselves to diabetes.

One I bought at Sam's is Better Home and Gardens Our Best Diabetic Living Recipes which has 500 favorite recipes with beautiful, mouth-watering color pictures!

Good luck and Happy Cooking!
