re: french bread failure

Hi, Sandy. I think most problems with bread machine recipes is that the amount of yeast is too much.... what I do is make the recipe as directed exactly and if my bread comes out the way yours did I reduce the yeast by half a teaspoon at a time.
too much yeast in bread machine makes the bread rise too high too fast and that causes it to depress later.
