Re: Help! Chickens are laying like crazy! (REPLY)

Misc.
Hi Kathy,
Do you like custard? This is my mother's recipe and the best I've ever tasted.

BAKED CUSTARD

2 CUPS WHOLE MILK - SCALDED
1/4 CUP SUGAR
1/2 TSP. VANILLA
2 EGGS - BEATEN
1/4 TSP. SALT
1/4 TSP. NUTMEG

BEAT EGGS TILL YOLKS AND WHITES ARE BLENDED. ADD SUGAR, SALT, VANILLA, AND NUTMEG. MIX THOROUGHLY. ADD HOT MILK GRADUALLY, STIRRING CONSTANTLY. POUR INTO BUTTERED CASSEROLE OR BUTTERED CUSTARD CUPS. SET IN PAN OF HOT WATER IN THE OVEN AND BAKE AT 375 FOR 30-40 MINUTES OR UNTIL KNIFE COMES OUT CLEAN.

SHE TRIPLES THIS RECIPE AND BAKES FOR 90 MINUTES.

ENJOY! I COULD EAT THE WHOLE THING - AT ONE SETTING!!!
LINDA
