Misc.I am sorry, but unless a pickle brine has at least half of the brine as 5 % acidity vinegar, it is not acidic enough to keep the cucumbers from possible botulism.
The old recipes were based upon vinegars that were as much as 40% acidity vinegar, unlike what we currently have.
Cucumbers are low acid vegetables and need the proper vinegar ratio in order to safely preserve them.
If you added another quart of vinegar, then it would be fine to use.
