Heck, I live in a fair-sized city with lots and lots and LOTS of overpriced kitchen boutiques (Translation: if the store name is in another language, it's anywhere from very to hideously expensive).

My favorite stop is a tiny place in a garage about 5-7 blocks away. We call it "The Kitchen Garage" (it has a name, but nobody can either remember it or even cares to do so), it's clean but cramped and bursting with "stuff" in all sizes and shapes and (very low) prices. AND it's open 7 days a week!

Love it. This place sells items that show up in pricy catalogs for about 35 to 60% off. The owners are very nice, very knowledgeable and very accommodating to people like me with questions, questions, questions.

If it ever closes, I'll die for sure!
