Dear Pat - Absolutely cracker crumbs can be used in place of white bread - I would probably put between 1/3 to 1/2 cups for 1 and 1/2 lbs of meat - if you're using ground turkey, I'd probably go the 1/3 cup since it won't have much extra moisture and it could get too dry.

I've even used oatmeal in a pinch when I was out of bread crumbs or cracker crumbs! It's good, too.
