re: Plachinda
Misc. The dough for Halyna's plachinda is not a good recipe. It was very elastic. The edges would pinch shut but then would shrink back. I rolled it out to about 1/16" thick and then put the filling in. By the time I had a pan full the dough had pulled back and was about a 1/4" thick and had pulled apart on the seams. It baked up very hard, even befor it turn brown. My Mom made plachinda but she never used a recipe. But I know there was lard in it. Boy, I miss those good old treats.
