re: Rasher of bacon

I agree with Janet/MO...it is a slice of bacon. However, I think that a rasher is actually a kind of smoked piece from the rib area that is cut thin. I have had the same question and researched it once. Restaurants used to list a serving of bacon as a rasher and I think that caused some confusion.
