Recipe: Balsamic Berry Dessert Topping with Vanilla Ice Cream

BALSAMIC BERRY DESSERT TOPPING WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM

1 pint blackberries
1 pint raspberries
1 pint strawberries, sliced
1/8 cup aged balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/4 cup cassis (black currant liqueur, optional)
Vanilla ice cream

In a large mixing bowl, combine blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, vinegar, sugar, pepper and cassis. Stir gently with a spoon. Let stand at room temperature at least 20 minutes before serving.

Serve over ice cream.
