re: Why is it called Husbands Cake?
Misc.A similar recipe was used by my grand-mother (she would be around 112 year old by now). It dates back to the 1950's when she picked it up in a magazine. The author presented it as "My Husband's Cake" because she wrote, it was his favourite.
Since it has been many years I have last tasted this cake, I have just asked my wife to try your recipe, hoping it will trigger good remembrances.
