you are getting yourself into? Generally, the rehearsal dinner is held the evening before the "big event". This is a very stressful time anyway and to add the stress of preparing a meal for 40 and seeing that it is going as planned seems like an awful lot to undertake for the mother of the groom.

Perhaps you could check to see if the church has a ladies group who provides and serves a meal for a nominal cost. Many times these ladies will prepare dinners for as little as $5 per person. Since it is homestyle cooking it is usually well worth it.

I understand that you would like the party to be really nice for your son - but I would re-think it so that you too might enjoy the "last" evening with your single son.
