It's amazing how many people have their roots in the south! You should ask someone in Mississippi to plant some zipper cream peas. They're delicious, much better than crowder peas to my family.

We visited the San Francisco area twice. I fell in love with the climate, the beautiful places, even Alcatraz! In fact, Alcatraz was one of my favorite places. My husband had to attend some training sessions at Hewlett-Packard in Mountain View, CA. I remember that everything that we wanted to go and see in Mountain View was located on El Camino Real. That street had to be 75 miles long! That's a lovely place. We stayed there and I was amazed at the fact there were no screens on the windows, the doors of the hotel were wide open, and there were no bugs. The humidity here is about 100% on most days so I really enjoyed the cool, dry air. I also enjoyed the wonderful produce. You are so lucky to have everything that's grown in that state right near you! I had no idea that CA was such a leading agricultural state. I was simply amazed by the redwoods, the dark sand on the beaches, and the windmills. You live in a beautiful state. When we drove through San Jose, my husband started singing that Dionne Warwick song and it's stuck with me ever since. The San Jose Mercury News (?) was read by us every day that we were in California.
