thickeners for pie filling

I am not sure whether or not the potato starch would hold up during both processing and then baking in a pie. It may get watery. My understanding is that Clear Jel A is the best to use. Do you have to deal with food allergies? Can you find Clear Jel, if no allergies? I will see what else I can find about the potato starch.Will search my resource books later. Will post any info I find. I do know that Clear Jel is a modified cornstarch.
