Waldorf salad version #3

This one is from a 1938 cookbook, The American Woman cookbook.

1 c diced apple
1 c diced celery
1/2 c broken walnut meats
French dressing
lettuce leaves
mayonnaise

fold together the apple, celery and nuts with the French dressing. serve on lettuce leaves with mayonnaise. serve immediately as the nuts will discolor the fruit.
