Recipe: Waldorf Salad

Salads - Assorted

Hi,
This is from a 1947 cookbook The Lily Wallace New American Cook Book. It's
pretty much the same as the others. For the origin, I would call the Waldorf
Astoria hotel in New York. I think that's where this salad originated or do
a search in a reference section. Anyway, here's the recipe.

Waldorf Salad
3 cups diced apples
1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
1 cup celery, cut in pieces
3/4 cup mayonnaise

Mix apples, celery and nuts and moisten with mayonnaise. Arrange on crisp
lettuce leaves and garnish with whole nuts and candied cherries. Serves 6
