well in fact jiu niang is not a dessert. r/o/p

hi nieghbour,

hope you still checked in here as i am a tad late for replying.

jiu niang is the fermanted glutinous rice that's meant to be made into dessert. you can't simply eat it as it is. i think you what you are looking for is the glutinous rice ball cooked in a soup that has jiu niang in it. and as for guihaw, it is a flower that often is used in the shangainese cooking. you can get (both ingredients) in special chinese/taiwanese grocery stores in singapore i am sure. (have been to some myself.)

i don't have an exact recipe on hand but that's how it's supposed to be cooked and served. hope this helps.
