It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your old friends. Architectural Digest must have had some fabulous ideas that your friends could incorporate into their porch project.

Your recipe for Filet Mignon with Mushrooms sounds delish:-)!! Our weather has been terrible here - cold (temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below normal) and rainy. As a result, we have been doing a lot of indoor cooking. I sure hope that we are not in for an entire summer of cold, rainy weather! Otherwise, DH will absolutely have to whisk me off to an island paradise - like PR:-)!!
