Winter Cactus
Misc.Hi June!
Yes, my hardy little devils act just like yours. I have them out in a terrible northern facing slope which gets the brunt of our nor'easters all winter. They lay down looking dead and withered - then at the first sign of spring they pop up. To me, they look like little hands waving at passersby on our street, saying, "Hi, we're back!" When the bees visit their blossoms it looks like they're going out for Mexican that day. I have heard they can get invasive so I limited us to two, and in one year's time they've tripled. To borrow an expression from my old neighborhood, "Who'd have thunk it," growing cactus in New England. They must be tenacious like us Yanks!
