Recipe(tried): Shepards Pie

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
Sheperds Pie

1/2 -1 KG (1-2 lb) cooked meat, minced (can be left over roast, corned meat or minced beef (I think minced beef is called hamburger in the U.S.))
1 medium onion
2-3 slices of crumbed bread
2 tomatoes sliced
Mashed potato
Grated cheese

Mince meat with 1 onion. Add bread crumbs, a good dollop of tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Mixup about 3/4 of a cup of instant gravy and stir this into the meat mixture. Place meat mixture into a suitable casserole dish, cover with slices of tomato slices then cover this with a good layer (approx 1/2 inch thich) of mashed potato. Sprinkle grated cheese over the top and bake in a moderate oven for approx 45 min, or until cheese goes a golden brown. Serve with your favourite vegetables.

Jennifer, this is a family favourite, I hope your son likes it, my kids love it. I will send you a few more this week, plus a few desert ones.

As a side note. Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo is only a short drive up the coast from where we live and we have been there several times. Steve and Teri are just the same in real life as what you see on TV.
Cheers
Tracy
