Recipe: 2005 Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange Menu
Holidays, CelebrationsMammy, We are having approximately 60 guests at our annual cookie exchange this year. It has grown over the years and is now followed by an appetizer buffet in addition to the cookie sampling. I'm still working a bit on the menu, yesterday I was looking at a magazine that detailed a party which included a bruschetta bar. I am seriously thinking of adding that to the menu! DH and I visited D-Vine, a wine bar for the first time this weekend. They serve food, some of it tapas style. I had a tapas tasting, 3 choices for $12, two shrimp on black rice, a piece of swordfish on baby bok choy and bbq pulled on coconut infused rice. Yum! DH chose the bruschetta for his entree he was able to choose three different ones for $9. He choose red onion/blue cheese, caprese (with fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil and a traditional tomato, onion and basil. He was served two of each and it got us to thinking about different toppings. When I saw the article yesterday I took it as a sign I should try it out! So, here's the tentative menu for our appetizer spread. It's the 10th, so I probably shouldn't be sitting in front of the computer, I should be cleaning something!!! I've been wanting to post it tho, so here goes...it's a combo of old favorites and new ideas: (I'll be posting the recipes with an asterisk soon. Let me know your final menus and how they work, I love hearing everyone's ideas!)
