Recipe: 256 Ways To Dress Up Rice (mix-and-match chart)

256 WAYS TO DRESS UP RICE

1. Cook rice according to package directions for 4 servings in a liquid from Column A.

2. Stir in a herb from Column B (1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried).

3. Add a choice from Column C.

4. Top with an ingredient from Column D.

COLUMN A:
beef broth
chicken broth
mushroom broth
vegetable broth

COLUMN B:
Parsley
Thyme
Basil
Mint

COLUMN C:
Sauteed chopped red bell pepper and garlic
Steamed sliced asparagus and carrots
Raisins and toasted pine nuts
Sauteed sliced celery and mushrooms

COLUMN D:
Crumbled crisp bacon
Chopped cucumber and red onion
Sliced scallions
Crumbled feta cheese

Makes 4 side dish servings
