Apple Crisp (Low Sugar)

Crisp Topping:
1 C Quick-Cooking Oats
3/4 C Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
1/4 C Chopped Walnuts -- Lightly Toasted
1/4 C Canola Oil
2 1/2 Tbsp Water
1 1/2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1/2 Tsp Salt

Apple Filling:
5 C Apples -- Peeled And Sliced
1/2 C Apple Juice
2 Tbsp Water
2 Tbsp Cornstarch
1/4 Tsp Cinnamon
Pinch Salt

Crisp Topping:

Combine oats, flour and walnuts in a small bowl. Combine oil with the water,
sugar and salt and pour over dry ingredients. Mix lightly. Spread mixture out
evenly on a cookie sheet and bake at 325 degree 10 to 15 minutes until crispy.
Avoid browning. Set aside to cool.

Apple Filling:

Simmer apples in apple juice untill about 3/4 done. Combine water with the
cornstarch and stir to dissolve. Add seasonings and cook untill thickened.
Pour into a 9 inch square pan or into individual serving bowls. Sprinkle with
topping before serving.
