Recipe: Apple Impromptu - may be similar to Swanson apple dessert

Desserts - Fruit
It's been a hot minute since I've had a Swanson Fried Chicken TV dinner, but if I'm remembering correctly I think this apple dessert recipe is similar. If not, it's still good!

APPLE IMPROMPTU

1 (20 or 21 ounce) can apple pie filling
FOR THE TOPPING:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
FOR SERVING (OPTIONAL):
Ice cream or whipped topping

Pour one can of pie filling into an 8-inch baking dish; set aside.

Sift flour and baking powder together; set aside.

Combine sugar with butter until blended. Stir in egg and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture. Cover the apple pie filling with the topping.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes.

Delicious served warm or cooled with ice cream or whipped topping.
