This is the only mention of "apple pie candy apples" I could find on the internet. You could also roll/sprinkle them with graham cracker crumbs as well. Good luck.
APPLE PIE CANDY APPLES
(similar to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory)
Microwave caramel candies 1:00 minute at a time and stir until melted. (Or make homemade caramel.) Dip it straight out of the hot pot. Keep the apples cold when you dip them in the caramel. It will help the caramel set quicker.
After the caramel is dipped and hardened, dip the apple in white chocolate. Then, sprinkle that with cinnamon sugar and you can resemble the "Apple Pie" candy apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. After chilling caramel apples in the fridge, take them off the wax paper immediately, or they will begin to get warm and stick to the wax paper.
