Recipe(tried): Apple Crisp (using oats and brown sugar)

APPLE CRISP

4 cups sliced peeled apples
Sugar and cinnamon to taste (1/4 to 1/3 cup sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon)
1 cup uncooked rolled oats
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, softened

Add sugar-cinnamon mixture to apples. Arrange in buttered baking dish; set aside.

Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and salt together. Add 1/2 cup butter and blend well with a fork. Spread on top of apples; press down lightly.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until topping is brown and apples are tender when tested with a fork.

Makes 8 servings
