Breads - Bread Machine
Hi grannieq,
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get some recipes posted for you. I've been very busy the past couple of weeks. Here are some I have tried & liked. They are recipes for 1 1/2 pound loaves. Put the ingredients in your machine in the order specified by the instructions that came with your machine.

English Muffin Bread
In order to have the proper texture, there may be a sunken top to this bread, but it tastes very good.
1 1/4 cups water
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
3 cups bread flour
3 TBS nonfat dry milk
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Cheddar cheese Bread
Use grated or shredded cheddar cheese & lightly pack it into the cup.
1 cup water or milk
1 TBSP margarine or butter
2/3 cup grated or shredded cheddar cheese
1 TBSP sugar
3/4 tsp salt
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Buttermilk Bread
1 cup water
2 TBSP margarine or butter
1 1/2 tsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
3 cups bread flour
1/4 cup buttermilk powder
2 tsp yeast

Cream of Wheat Bread
This is very good! Besides using plain cream of wheat cereal, you can also use the flavored packets of the cereal for variety.
1 cup milk
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 egg
2 TBSP sugar
3/4 tsp salt
2 cups bread flour
1 cup Cream of Wheat, uncooked
1 TBSP vital gluten, optional
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Potato Bread
2/3 cup potato water
2 1/2 TBSP margarine or butter
1/2 egg (use either the egg yolk or the eggwhite, or 2 TBSP egg substitute)
1/3 cup mashed potatoes
2TBSP sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast
Note: Boil 1-2 potatoes. Save water to use for the potatoe water. Mash the potatoes, without milk or butter, & let cool to lukewarm or room temperature.

Sunflower Bread
You can also use pumpkin seeds for another variation.
1 cup water
1 1/2 TBSP vegetable oil
2 TBSP honey
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast
At beep add:
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup raisins

Herb Bread
1 1/8 cups water
1 egg
2TBSP margarine or butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 TBSP sugar
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/8 tsp celery seed
1/8 tsp sage
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup oats
3 cups bread flour
2 cups yeast

Dill Bread
1 cup cottage cheese
2 eggs
2 TBSP sugar
1 TBSP dill weed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Garlic Parmesan Bread
Increase or decrease the amount of garlic to suit your taste. Use freshly grated parmesan.
1 cup water
2 1/2 TBSP margarine or butter
1 TBSP honey
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Jalapeno Cheese Bread
2/3 cups milk
1 1/2 TBSP margarine or buter
1 1/2 jalapeno peppers, diced
1/2 cup grated jalapeno cheese
1/3 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Onion Bread
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 TBSP margarine or butter
1/2 cup grated fresh onion
1 TBSP sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Nine-Grain Bread
1 1/3 cups water
2 1/2 TBSP margarine or butter
2 TBSP brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/3 cups nine grain cereal
2 2/3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast

Cracked Wheat Bread
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup cracked wheat
2 TBSP vegetable oil
1 TBSP honey
1 tsp salt
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups bread flour
2 TBSP vital gluten, optional
1 1/2 tsp yeast
Allow the cracked wheat to sit in the measured liquid at least 1 hour. Add the water & cracjed wheat with the liquid ingredients. Adjust the consistency with water or flour.
