I hope this will help. It is the only recipe that I found, thus far, that referred to being a close match to Bush's Baked Beans.
BETTER THAN BUSH'S BAKED BEANS
1 lb. great northern beans
4 chicken or beef bouillon cubes
1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup onions
1/4 cup garlic powder (not a typo*)
1 1/2 tsp. mustard powder
5 Tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 pkg. hickory smoked thick cut bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
5 cups water plus 5 cups water for second cooking
Use very large pan. Put beans and bouillon cubes in and cover with first 5 cups water. Bring to a boil. Take off heat and cover and let sit 1 1/2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Drain beans and pour into a 9x11-inch baking pan. Add remaining ingredients; stir.
Bake until all water has evaporated (about 3 hours). Remove from oven. Cover. Refrigerate overnight.
THE NEXT DAY:
Preheat oven again to 350 degrees F.
Add next 5 cups water and bake until all water has evaporated again (about 3 hours). Serve.
