Recipe(tried): Baby Rattle Cake
Misc.Congratulations on your soon-to-be new Grandson!
This cake is super easy and very cute.
Using your favorite cake mix (any flavor, but the confetti variety makes it cute when cut and served), make 2 8" round cakes following the directions on the box.
Frost both cakes separately using blue icing (add blue food coloring to your favorite white, canned frosting to get the shade you desire).
On your serving platter (or a large piece of heavy cardboard covered in foil) place the frosted cakes 11" apart.
Cover an empty paper towel roll (the cardboard insert) in foil or a baby themed gift wrap. Put the finished tube between the two cakes to make your "rattle".
If you want to get fancy you can decorate the cakes with piped frosting in a contrasting color or sprinkle with pastel M&Ms or jimmies. Let your imagination be your guide.
