Salads - Salad Dressings
BACON SWEET-SOUR DRESSING

"Delicious over torn fresh spinach or crisp iceberg lettuce."

4 slices bacon
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup wine vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 cup bottled Italian style salad dressing

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, drain on paper towels and crumble into small pieces. Set aside.

Saute onion in bacon drippings until tender.

Pour off all but one tablespoon of bacon drippings; then add honey, vinegar and water. Bring to boil. Cool.

Combine mixture with salad dressing and beat or blend until smooth. Stir in bacon pieces. Chill.

Shake well before using.

Makes about 2 cups
