Barbecue Sauce
Recipe By : Elizabeth Powell

1/2 small onion -- minced
1 garlic clove -- minced
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup bourbon
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder

Saute onions and garlic in butter in a heavy saucepan. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes.

Use to baste meats for grilling. Simmer 10-15 minutes longer to reduce to a thicker sauce for serving with cooked meats. Especially good for ribs or pork chops.

Makes a little less than 2 cups, about 28 one-tablespoon servings.
