Recipe: Barbecue Sauce (using catsup and molasses)

Hi Janice,

Here's another one for you to try with molasses.

Sweet and Spunky Barbecue Sauce
Source: Better Homes and Gardens
Yield: 1 2/3 cups

1 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 small onion -- sliced or chopped
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice

In a large saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool.

MAKE-AHEAD TIP: Prepare the sauce as directed. Store, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
