Recipe: Beef with Green Peppers - Women's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery

1 pound lean beef
4 tablespoons soy sauce, divided use
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 medium bell peppers
6 tablespoons cooking oil, divided use
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG)
Mix beef with 2 tablespoons soy sauce, cornstarch and black pepper.
Seed peppers and cut into julienne strips. Fry in 3 tablespoons of oil. Remove pepper from pan; set aside.
Add remaining 3 tablespoons oil to pan and fry beef until redness disappears.
Add fried peppers, salt, monosodium glutamate and remaining 2 tablespoon soy sauce.
Makes 4 to 6 servings
