Recipe: Patriotic Pot Roast (repost) re: Cooking a 1 lb pot roast in a crock pot

I think you could use the same amount of time cooking on low (even beef stew using beef cubes cooks 8-10 hours on low in many recipes). But you can check it at 4-6 hours to see how it's going. I'm assuming that you'll be cooking vegetables at the same time. Its usually recommended to have the crock pot at least half full so you may need to make up for the roast size with a few more vegetables. One manual suggests when cooking a smaller roast to place the meat on the bottom of the crock pot and put the vegetables around it.
In this recipe that Gina shared she cooks a 1 1/2 lb roast in a crock pot on high for 6 hours, adding the potatoes and carrots after 4 hours of cooking:
