Pat, this is from a 1971 pamphlet called Betty Crocker's Bisquick Cookbook Chapter Two, Strictly Thrifty Meals, hope it's what you are looking for:
OVEN-FRIED CHICKEN WITH BISCUITS
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2-3 lb broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
Whole cloves
1 can (16 oz.)peach halves, drained
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup cold water
Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Melt shortening and butter in oven in 13x9 pan. Blend 1/2 cup baking mix, the salt, paprika and pepper;coat chicken pieces with it. Place chicken skin side down in shortening mixture in pan. Bake uncovered 35 minutes. Insert a whole clove in each peach. Stir 2 cups baking mix and the water together to make a soft dough. Gently smooth dough into a ball on floured cloth-covered board. Knead 5 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured 2-inch cookie cutter. Turn chicken, pushing pieces to one side of pan. Spoon excess fat from pan. Place biscuits in single layer next to chicken Arrange peach halves on top of chicken. Bake 15 minutes longer or until biscuits are light brown and chicken is teder. Makes 4 servings.
