Recipe(tried): Bow-Ties (fried cookies)

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
BOW-TIES

5 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon whiskey or rum (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 to 2 cups flour
powdered sugar (for garnish)

Add salt to egg yolks and beat until thick. Add sour cream, sugar, whiskey or rum, and vanilla. Add flour 1 cup at once then the rest gradually until you have soft dough that will roll out easily; mix well.

Transfer to a floured board knead until smooth and firm. Take a little at a time and roll very thin. Cut into 4-inch strips about 1 1/2 inch wide. Cut each piece in the center and pull one end through slit.

Deep fry in hot oil until slightly brown. Drain on paper towel. When cool sprinkle with powered sugar.
